What's the difference between Spanish and Mexican rice?
Well, Spanish rice is usually yellow, made so by saffron and usually boiled with chicken broth.
Mexican rice is red/orange and boiled with tomatoes and/or tomato paste.
Depending upon taste some may add corn or peas (or both) and chopped onions and salt to add more flavor.
The basis of Mexican rice was originally from Spain but modified through-out the years to fit local customs and cultures.
Both taste delicious.
Mexican Rice is served at Marquez Mexican Restaurant as can be noted
by it's red/orange color.
Most of our dishes are served with Mexican rice and refried beans.
